The Vanderbilt University School of Medicine presents the Phillip W. Felts Lecture Series in the Humanities
In conjunction with the Flexner Deans’ Lecture Series 2023-2024.
This year’s speaker is Sunita Puri, MD, Program Director of the Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellowship at the University of Massachusetts Chan School of Medicine. Her speech is titled, “Language as medicine: Finding the right words for the right conversations about suffering, mortality, and dying well”
The event will take place Monday, March 4, at noon in 208 Light Hall.
Puri is a graduate of Yale University, she completed medical school and residency training in internal medicine at the University of California – San Francisco followed by fellowship training in palliative medicine at Stanford. She is the author of That Good Night: Life and Medicine in the Eleventh Hour, a critically acclaimed literary memoir examining her journey to the practice of palliative medicine.
