Medical Center Drive closure this weekend to set crane for the New Tower

Medical Center Drive will be closed from south of the Vanderbilt University Hospital/Critical Care Tower to the entrance into The Vanderbilt Clinic to set a crane needed to install a new bridge for the vertical expansion of the Vanderbilt University Hospital, also known as the New Tower building.

Starting tomorrow at 6 p.m. through Monday, March 25 at 4 a.m., Medical Center Drive will be closed from south of the Vanderbilt University Hospital/Critical Care Tower to the entrance into The Vanderbilt Clinic to set a crane needed to install a new bridge for the vertical expansion of the Vanderbilt University Hospital, also known as the New Tower building.

Electronic signage will be located at:

  • 21st Ave. by Pierce Ave.
  • Medical Center North (close to Edgehill Ave.)

Police officers will be located at these areas to help guide traffic:

  • Pierce Ave. and 21st Ave. entrance
  • Pierce Ave. and Medical Center Drive
  • Medical Center Drive and 21st Ave. entrance
  • Different locations on Medical Center Drive
  • Officers will be present throughout the closure.
