Kaylin Smith Craig, MD, MMHC, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine, has been appointed Executive Medical Director of Vanderbilt Health’s Primary Care Patient Care Center (PCC), which coordinates primary care and internal medicine clinics in 30 locations throughout Middle Tennessee.
Craig previously served as medical director for primary care clinics in Hendersonville, Pleasant View, Mt. Juliet, Lebanon and Clarksville.
“Dr. Craig is a highly respected physician and teacher,” said Tom Elasy, MD, MPH, the Ann and Roscoe Robinson Professor of Clinical Research at the Diabetes Center, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Public Health. “She has always had a clear North Star: exceptional patient care.
“Importantly, she thinks like a busy practicing physician … and has an ideal administrative background for this role,” Elasy said. “She will be a terrific supporter of our faculty and staff. We are fortunate to have her lead.”

A 2012 graduate of the LSU Health Shreveport School of Medicine, Clark completed her residency training in internal medicine at Vanderbilt Health, joined the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine faculty in 2015, and earned a Master of Management in Health Care degree from Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management last year.
She will continue to serve as the associate program director for the new Wilson County Primary Care-Internal Medicine Residency Program, based at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital in Lebanon, which welcomed its first cohort of resident physicians July 1.
