The Vanderbilt Health Adult Respiratory Care Department has been awarded the 2027-2028 APEX Designation for Acute Care from the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).
An APEX Designation exemplifies the best practices and enhance patient safety and outcomes, and shows that Vanderbilt Health is among an elite group of institutions with respiratory care departments and educational programs nationwide that have met the stringent quality, clinical practice, or educational program criteria of the award.
At the 2026 AARC Congress, Apex designated hospitals and programs will be recognized on stage during the Award Ceremony on Nov. 14.
The AARC Apex Designation was developed in 2017 to recognize respiratory care departments and programs that demonstrate high-quality care and outstanding
higher education.
