Apr. 13, 2017—Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM) now ranks No. 8 in the nation among U.S. medical schools in total grant support provided through the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The new ranking raises VUSM’s standing two spots from the No. 10 position it held last year.

Jan. 26, 2017—Walter Frontera, M.D., Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), will step down from his role as the department’s leader on Feb. 28.
Oct. 6, 2016—William Stead, M.D., the McKesson Foundation Professor of Biomedical Informatics, Professor of Medicine and Chief Strategy Officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has been chosen to serve as chair of the National Committee on Vital & Health Statistics (NCVHS).
Jul. 15, 2016—Dr. Andre Churchwell has been named to the newly created role of chief diversity officer for Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In this role, he will continue to oversee the Office for Diversity Affairs in the School of Medicine while also engaging with other leaders across VUMC to create new opportunities for increasing diversity and inclusion.

Erlanger Health System, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network announce agreements
Jul. 6, 2016—Officials with Erlanger Health System and Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) announce a strategic affiliation agreement creating a collaborative relationship between the two institutions while Erlanger Health System is also joining the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network.
Jun. 16, 2016—Vanderbilt University Medical Center faculty and staff will see an increase in monthly fees for on-campus parking, effective Aug. 1.
