As Division Director for the DCM, Gibson-Corley will lead the academic home for faculty members who have service effort (administrative, clinical or diagnostic pathology) in the Division of Animal Care or the Office of Animal Welfare Assurance.

These hospitals were awarded Five-Star ratings for overall quality of care for 2026, placing Vanderbilt Health’s hospitals among the top 12% in the nation for overall performance.

The Division supports Vanderbilt Health’s various entities such as Vanderbilt University Hospital, Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt Health Services, along with Vanderbilt Health’s regional hospitals and ambulatory clinics.

After 15 years of distinguished leadership at Vanderbilt Health, Seth Karp, MD, the H. William Scott Jr. Professor of Surgery, will be stepping down as System Surgeon-in-Chief and Chair of the Section of Surgical Sciences on Oct. 15.
