Scott McCarver, Associate Operating Office for Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital and Clinics, has been named Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital.

With approximately 10 million square feet of building space, along with acres of land outside its hospitals, clinics and research facilities, Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is an enormous maze of hallways and busy streets that are frequented by millions each year.

If there were a time for leaders to express enthusiasm and optimism about the project to replace, over the next 18 months, the greater part of Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s clinical, administrative and billing software, that time was Monday morning at the project launch.

An initiative to add beds in strategic locations throughout Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC), decrease patients’ length of stay and focus on morning discharges is paying off with improved patient access to services, hospital leaders say.

Mitchell Edgeworth, MBA, chief operating officer for Vanderbilt University Hospital and Clinics, has been promoted to chief executive officer of Vanderbilt University Adult Hospitals and Clinics.
