Vendor for VUMC clinical systems upgrade named

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) has announced an agreement with Epic Systems Corp., a privately owned health care software company based in Verona, Wisconsin, to provide key clinical, administrative and billing software to the Medical Center.

We’ve come a long way since McKesson’s announcement that it was withdrawing support for our Horizon software suite, leading us to launch our CS 2.0 initiative. I pledged to keep you updated as we evaluated our systems and plan for the future.

CS 2.0 started with McKesson announcing that the Horizon suite of software used at VUMC would no longer be supported in 2018. We are using this announcement as a motivator to evaluate all our systems and plan for what our patients, our staff and our faculty need in the future.

Clinical information systems in line for major upgrade

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has launched a comprehensive review of the clinical information technology used throughout VUMC hospitals and clinics, with an eye to replacing certain key applications.
