One of Vanderbilt University Medical Center's beloved pet therapy dogs, KyleakinTempest, aka Will, died May 14. He was 11 years old.

Charles Stratton IV, MD, associate professor of Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology and of Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, died March 21 in Nashville. He was 77.

Vanderbilt's Shan Huang, MD, PhD, research assistant professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (HNS) and an expert in device implant technology died on Feb. 10. He was 78.

Thomas Arthur Ban, MD, emeritus professor of Psychiatry and former director of Vanderbilt's Division of Psychopharmacology, died Feb. 4. He was 92.

Vanderbilt's Michael Fowler, MD, associate professor of Medicine in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, a celebrated Master Clinical Teacher, and co-medical director of the Shade Tree Clinic, died Feb. 20. He was 49.

Longtime faculty member Lloyd E. King Jr., MD, PhD, who joined Vanderbilt University Medical Center in 1977 as chief of the Division of Dermatology, died Feb. 8 at Vanderbilt University Hospital after a brief illness.

Laura Jo Turner Dugas, who along with her brothers Cal Jr. and Steve Turner and their families, have been longtime supporters of Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, died on Dec. 26, 2021. She was 84.
