McDonald elected to TMA board of trustees

Michel McDonald, M.D., MBA, assistant professor of Medicine in the Division of Dermatology, officially took office as chair of the board of trustees of the Tennessee Medical Association (TMA) at the group’s annual convention, held last month at the Opryland Resort and Convention Center and attended by about 300 physicians and others in health care.

State public health award named for Schaffner

The Tennessee Public Health Association and the Tennessee Medical Association are collaborating to establish the “William Schaffner, M.D., Public Health Hero Award,” to be presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated extraordinary efforts in the advancement of public health in Tennessee.
