Vanderbilt air ambulance experts available to talk about air ambulance safety standards
Vanderbilt University Medical Center, which has a 21-year accident free operation, is the first dedicated air medical operation in the U.S. to deploy the American Eurocopter EC 145 equipped with the latest in state of the art avionics specially designed to operate in the nighttime and inclimate weather environment. VUMC, which operates four helicopters and one fixed wing and is the largest IFR program in Tennessee, has air ambulance experts available to speak about air ambulance safety standards. -

Two Vanderbilt LifeFlight nurses have been recognized by their industry peers and been named national flight program director of the year and national flight nurse of the year and were recognized at award ceremonies in Texas held this past week. -

Vanderbilt LifeFlight sends helicopter, nurse team to help with disaster relief, response
Vanderbilt LifeFlight has dispatched its reserve helicopter and a medical team to Hattiesburg, Miss., to assist in disaster relief efforts after a call for assistance was made to Tennessee EMS officials from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. -

This afternoon at approximately 4 p.m. LifeFlight will touch down outside the Country Music Hall of Fame for part of an evening gala to be held at the museum celebrating LifeFlight‘s 20 years of service to Middle Tennessee.
