In the first such procedure, Vanderbilt University Medical Center has transplanted a DCD (donation after cardiac death) heart using XVIVO Heart Assist Transport (XHAT), a novel cold organ perfusion device.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center male nurses have formed the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN), which has just been recognized as an official chapter by the AAMN.

The study findings, published in the journal Diabetes Care, suggest that pancreas imaging can have a benefit in tracking disease development and recruitment for preventive and therapeutic trials.
