The new rooms are the latest in a series of obstetrical enhancements, including the Vanderbilt University Hospital Labor and Delivery Entrance, that provide more space for the increased volume of mothers delivering at VUH.

Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, which received $527.7 million in direct and indirect NIH grant support in FY23, has been among the top 10 U.S. medical schools in NIH funding for six of the last 10 years.

A new Vanderbilt University Medical Center clinical laboratory facility is open for business following a relocation to a 110,000 square-foot facility in MetroCenter. The new lab is located approximately five miles from VUMC’s main Nashville campus.

Vanderbilt Urology’s newly renovated TVC clinic features a slightly larger and much more efficient space, nitrous oxide in the procedure rooms, a new high definition C-Arm X-ray machine and a urodynamics unit, thereby expanding the range of procedures that can be performed in clinic without having to go to the operating room.

The Vanderbilt Institute for Infection, Immunology and Inflammation recently debuted state-of-the-art new facilities in Medical Center.

The new center, supported by a $5 million grant from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute will focus on training scientists and supporting research to minimize gaps between the generation of clinical evidence, implementation of proven interventions and development of informed public health policy.

Scott McCarver, president of Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, recently presented an update on the state of the hospital at the December meeting of the Wilson County Commissioners.
