Several events are being hosted by VUMC’s Veteran’s Resource Group (VRG) in observance of Memorial Day.
The POW/MIA Table: A place setting for one, A table for all: May 24-30 | POW/MIA Tables remind us of those fallen, missing, or imprisoned U.S. Military Service Members. Three POW/MIA tables will be on display at VUMC’s Adult Hospital Cafeteria, MCJCH Food Court, and OHO Entrance.
Flag-raising Ceremony: The U.S. flag will be raised in honor of our nation’s heroes on Memorial Day at VUMC’s Adult Hospital Plaza (next to Panera), Monday, May 29, at 8 a.m. The event will be livestreamed via Teams. Join on your computer, mobile app or room device: Click here to join the meeting
Memorial Day Virtual Card: In honor of Memorial Day, the VRG collected words of recognition, remembrance, and reverence for our fallen service members and first responders. Memorial Day Video: In 2020, VUMC Veterans created a short video with a few staff describing what Memorial Day means to them while honoring someone who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving in any branch of the U.S. military, or as a First Responder. The video is available here:
