A downtime impacting the NEC telephones only has been scheduled. This downtime is a result of a power outage in the Medical Center East Telephone Equipment Room.
There is a scheduled, rolling power outage taking place on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 12:00 am – 6:00 am CT and on Sunday, April 14, 2024, from midnight to 6 a.m. CDT. This will affect NEC telephones only. This will not affect voice mail, Skype for Business, Teams phones, cellular phones including Push to Talk, Mobile Heartbeat phones or Cisco phones. We will not direct the NEC phones to the red phone system, but red phones are always available to use.

No. We only direct NEC phones to Red Phones when the entire phone system is unavailable.
What will happen to my desk phone during this time?
Your NEC phone may not be available sometime between 12 am and 6 am on 4/13/2024 and 4/14/2024 for 60 – 90 minutes while the electrical work is being executed.
Will all the desk phones in my area be out?
No. There may be some phones in an area that are down while others will remain active.
