Three Vanderbilt University scientists will describe “gene-environment interactions in cancer etiology and prevention” at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 21, in 208 Light Hall.
The panel discussion of “cutting-edge discovery” at Vanderbilt is the final Flexner Discovery Lecture of the 2014-2015 academic year. Speakers include:
• Robert J. Coffey Jr., M.D., Ingram Professor of Cancer Research, professor of Medicine and of Cell and Developmental Biology, and principal investigator, Specialized Program of Research Excellence (SPORE) in Gastrointestinal Cancer;
• David Cortez, Ph.D., Ingram Professor of Cancer Research, professor of Biochemistry and co-leader, Genome Maintenance Research Program, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center; and
• Hilary Tindle, M.D., MPH, associate professor of Medicine and director of Tobacco Research and Treatment.
