The multi-location Lab Transformation Command Center will open later this week, in preparation for the March 1 opening of the new laboratory facility at MetroCenter. It will remain open through the transition period, until lab operations stabilize.
More detail on downtime is available at vumc.org/lab-transformation/downtime. A one-page overview is also available online.
The Command Center will be staffed by experts from the lab, IT, clinical operations, and emergency preparedness to help manage the logistics of the transition, maintain patient care through downtime, and establish normal operations after downtime.
The Command Center will oversee reporting, triage, tracking, and resolution of identified and reported issues.
Employees can get support through the downtime and recovery period as follows:
- Urgent/patient care issues: contact your house supervisor or administrative coordinator
- Non-urgent or technical issues: call IT Help Desk (615-343-HELP) or submit special “Lab transformation” Pegasus ticket
- Non-urgent lab test or specimen status questions: call main or regional hospital Lab depending on location
- 21st Ave. Campus: 615-835-5227 (5-LABS)
- Vanderbilt Wilson: 615-443-2539
- Vanderbilt Bedford: 931-685-8800
- Vanderbilt Tullahoma: 931-393-7978
Additionally, members of VUMC’s support teams will be on-site and available in most locations for immediate questions and at-the-elbow help.
The Command Center will also oversee communications regarding the status of the transition.
