Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital (VBH) has earned an “A” in The Leapfrog Group’s Fall 2024 Hospital Safety Grade, a national recognition for patient safety, marking its fifth consecutive “A” rating.
This achievement awards VBH the “Straight A” designation, highlighting its continuous commitment to safeguarding patients from preventable harm and enhancing their quality of care.
“We take pride in delivering excellent care that our community can rely on,” said Travis Capers, president of Vanderbilt Regional Community Hospitals. “Earning this designation reflects the dedication of our providers and staff who work tirelessly to ensure our communities have quality care close to home.”
The Leapfrog Safety Grade, issued twice a year, evaluates hospitals based on 30 national performance measures, including the prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries. These peer-reviewed grades are designed to help patients make informed decisions about their health care and encourage transparency and accountability within hospitals.
“Our patients can feel confident in the quality and safety of the care we provide, and we look forward to continuing to uphold these high standards,” said Terrance Adams, chief operating officer of VBH. “Recognitions like these make it possible for us to continue expanding and improving our services to meet the needs of our community.”
“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade is a significant accomplishment for Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “It reflects enormous dedication to your patients and their families, and your whole community should be proud. I extend my congratulations to Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for their tireless efforts to put patients first.”
