Dominique Jarman, MSN, RN
Dominique Jarman, MSN, RN, has been named Director of Nursing Workforce Development for Vanderbilt Health, effective Oct. 12. This new role focuses on strategic systemwide workforce nursing growth and sustainability.
Jarman has worked at Vanderbilt Health for over 15 years, beginning her career through Vanderbilt Health’s Nurse Residency Program. She worked in pediatric nursing before advancing as a Lead Nursing Education Specialist. Jarman has also taught as adjunct faculty at various local schools of nursing.
As a specialist, she targeted development initiatives by growing education partnerships with student nursing programs to create recruitment and onboarding strategies and built advancement programs for existing employees.
“There are so many talented employees with a drive to grow and learn, and creating pathways to develop their skill sets and find fulfillment in their careers is an honor and responsibility,” Jarman said. “My own career journey involved utilizing education programs Vanderbilt offered to nurses, and I’m committed to expanding those opportunities and support.”
As director, Jarman will define and guide the vision and future growth paths for the nursing workforce. She will identify data-driven solutions to expand advancement opportunities for employees; improve retention; provide transition support into new roles; oversee existing and emerging community partnerships; develop integrative strategies for new and existing employee onboarding; and implement more advanced practice placement opportunities throughout the health system. She will also be prioritizing system development to collect and apply employee feedback that will help guide workforce and growth decisions.
Jarman earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from George Mason University and a Master of Science in Family Practice/Nursing from Vanderbilt University.
“I am thrilled to have Dominique as part of our leadership team. She excels at identifying areas for growth and connection within our health system,” said Pat Givens, DHA, RN, NEA-BC, Interim System Chief Nursing Officer. “I am excited to see the impact she’ll have on expanding opportunities for new and current employees to develop their careers at Vanderbilt.”
