Karen Keady, PhD, RN, NEA-BC, stepped into her new role as VUMC System Chief Nursing Officer on July 1. In this interview, she covered several key topics, including her leadership style and vision, technology and innovation, work-life balance, shadowing, and cultivating a welcoming environment.

The purpose was to reduce maternal mortality by improving safe access to anesthesia for pregnant women across Africa.

The research shows that by getting enough sleep and reducing variability around sleep onset and wake times, patients can reduce the incidence of chronic disease.
