Mrs. Chapman, whose late husband, John Chapman, was dean of VUSM, worked tirelessly to advance health care and the nursing profession on the local and national level.

She brings nearly 30 years of experience in health care administration to Monroe Carell, the past seven of which have been in a chief operating officer role.

The 28,000-square-foot pulmonary stepdown unit is the first of six inpatient floors in the new building that rises above 21st Avenue on the Vanderbilt Health Main Campus in Nashville.

As the facility dog coordinator at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Grissim is always on the go.

The Be SMART campaign was launched to raise awareness that secure gun storage — storing guns unloaded, locked and separate from ammunition — can save children’s lives.
