The Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network (VHAN) distributed $17.7 million in shared savings and performance bonuses from commercial and Medicare contracts this year.

In early 2020, several groups at Vanderbilt University Medical Center were busy planning an in-person event to announce the creation of Vanderbilt Health Employer Solutions, a team designed to provide workforce health and wellness services to businesses of all types and sizes. By March, it was clear that area employers needed a trusted source of information and support to manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

The University Health Network (UHN), a clinically integrated network and accountable care organization (ACO) based in Knoxville that includes The University of Tennessee Medical Center (UTMC) and University Physicians’ Association (UPA), as well as various partnerships and joint ventures with physicians and health care companies across East Tennessee, has announced an affiliation with the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network (VHAN), a network of providers working together to transform health care to be more proactive, accessible and affordable for all.

Aetna announces a new accountable care product, Aetna Whole Health — Tennessee, which leverages the strengths of the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network, a collaborative partnership of physicians, health systems, and employers in Tennessee and surrounding states. The new product will provide employers a value-based health care option designed to increase quality, improve efficiency and the patient experience and control costs.
