Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s (VUMC) new 1,200-square-foot Emergency Operations Center (EOC) has large LED monitors lining freshly painted walls and a slew of telephones.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) will join several other hospitals and federal, state and local agencies for a full-scale weather-related disaster drill on Thursday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Being familiar with emergency response procedures for an active threat on campus is critical to the safety of campus community members and can enhance first responders’ ability to contain a threat.

Vanderbilt’s Office of Emergency Preparedness, Fire and Workplace Safety will host representatives from across the university for an emergency table-top training exercise Nov. 3.

Vanderbilt will conduct a test of the VUMC Notification System at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 22.

Vanderbilt University Medical Center is the first medical center in Tennessee to be named a Storm Ready Supporter by the National Weather Service (NWS), a designation that recognizes a superior level of preparedness for tornadoes and inclement weather.
