Love to direct VUSN psychiatric nurse practitioner program
Rene Love, DNP, MSN, has been named director of the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at Vanderbilt University School of Nursing. She succeeds Susie Adams, Ph.D., R.N., who was recently named Nursing Faculty Scholar for Community Engaged Behavioral Health at VUSN.

Otolaryngology society lauds Wanna’s research efforts
George Wanna, M.D., assistant professor of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, has been named to receive the Harris P. Mosher Award from the American Laryngological, Rhinological and Otological Society Inc., also known as the Triological Society.

Photo: Blackhawk visits
The musical group Blackhawk recently performed for patients at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. The group raises funds for the Cancer Center in honor of former bandmate Van Stephenson, who died from melanoma.

Gore honored by Zhejiang University
John Gore, Ph.D., director of the Vanderbilt University Institute for Imaging Science, was named an honorary professor of Zhejiang University, China, during his recent visit to Zhejiang University School of Biomedical Engineering and Instrument Science.

Elective program expands education in new directions
This semester Vanderbilt University School of Medicine introduced a new Evening Elective Program designed for medical and nursing students, residents and fellows with the goal of developing well-rounded health care professionals.
