The 53 Babies campaign gave babies born on May 3 at three Vanderbilt Health hospitals $1,053 toward a 529 college savings plan.

The Ellis Island Medals of Honor rank among the nation’s most renowned awards, officially recognized by the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, with each year’s recipients listed in the Congressional Record.  

The Grace P. Ford Scholarship, established in 2005 by the Clarksville Volunteer Auxiliary, has awarded more than $337,000 in scholarships to students who have volunteered at the hospital.

Most of the 27 participants were able to reach altitudes of more than 18,000 feet — exclusively personal bests. All participants were under close medical supervision.
