‘Growing rods’ help ease surgical burden of scoliosis treatment
Physicians with Vanderbilt’s Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics have started to employ a new, advanced technology that uses magnetically controlled growing rods to correct scoliosis in young children, reducing the need for frequent surgeries and anesthesia in these patients. -

Hanto to lead pediatric liver transplant program

No stranger to building nationally recognized liver transplant programs — he has three under his belt — the new associate director of the Vanderbilt Transplant Center aims to work with the departments of Pediatrics and Surgery to develop a comprehensive pediatric liver center at Children’s Hospital. -
