A significant portion of the proceeds are benefiting the Vanderbilt University Medical Center Arts program. The event served as an opportunity for attendees to meet the artist and learn more about the VUMC Arts mission.

Scientists from Vanderbilt University and Vanderbilt University Medical Center led several activities to illustrate the important roles that microorganisms play in the environment and human health.

What started as a simple proposal to create a moment during each home game for a hospitalized patient to root for the home team and share the excitement from fans and players in the arena has become a welcomed tradition. 

This year, more than 60 participating surgeons, fellow and resident surgeons, attending anesthesiologists and certified registered nurse anesthetists, surgery center staff and Spanish interpreters volunteered on an August Saturday to help those who couldn’t otherwise afford it.
