CJ Collett and Stacy Bair-Taylor named Medical Assistants of the Year

Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s CJ Collett and Stacy Bair-Taylor received Medical Assistant of the Year awards for 2024.

Vanessa Cameron is a nurse educator who has always been passionate about accommodations to help people learn. But a rock-climbing fall left her paraplegic, and she now says: ‘I thought I understood what ableism was, and I was wrong.’

Cameron, who co-leads the VUMC Disability Employee Resource Group, has led a team to develop algorithmic tools intended for anyone with a goal of supporting all participants at educational events.

Konrad Hoetzenecker named surgical director of the Vanderbilt Lung Transplant Program

Hoetzenecker comes to Vanderbilt from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, where he has been professor of Lung Transplantation and director of the Lung Transplant Program.

Heather Jackson named America’s top NP for pain management 

Jackson treats patients at the supportive and palliative oncology clinic at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center and is an associate professor in Clinical Nursing at Vanderbilt University.
