Warren Sandberg, MD, PhD, professor and chair of the Department of Anesthesiology, and Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital’s (VUAH) chief of staff for Perioperative and Critical Care Service, has been named as the hospital’s new Chief of Staff.

Two physician-scientist Instructors in Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) — Jeeyeon Cha, MD, PhD, and Celestine Wanjalla, MD, PhD — are among 12 recipients of the 2021 Burroughs Wellcome Fund (BWF) Career Award for Medical Scientists.

Following a national search, Eben Rosenthal, MD, the John and Ann Doerr Medical Director and Associate Director of Clinical Care with Stanford Cancer Center, will join Vanderbilt University Medical Center Oct. 11 as chair of the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery (OHNS).

Christine Lovly, MD, PhD, is the recipient of the 2021 ECOG-ACRIN Young Investigator Award, a major recognition of research excellence.
