MyWorkday Topic Spotlight: Timekeeping—Kronos, Vandyworks and Workday

Many employees are curious if Kronos will continue to be used after the implementation of Workday on Apr. 1. Kronos will remain, but with some significant changes.

Exempt employees will no longer use Kronos for recording their PTO—they will instead request, record, and view their PTO through Workday.

Hourly/non-exempt employees will continue to clock in and out using the Kronos time clocks, or by using the “Timestamp” feature on the Kronos web application. They will also use Kronos for recording any PTO that occurred in the current pay period (PTO requests outside a current pay period should be submitted via Workday). Timekeeping information will flow between Kronos and Workday. Kronos training is available in the Learning Exchange and has been assigned to hourly employees and timekeepers.

Current Vandyworks users will continue to use that system for scheduling and requesting PTO. Vandyworks will also feed data into Workday.

All leave balances for all employees will be available in Workday.
