Four organizations from the Vanderbilt Health Professional Solutions (HPS) ecosystem participated in this year’s Becker’s Healthcare Annual Meeting, showcasing a range of physician-founded and service-base solutions designed to address real-world operational and clinical challenges.

Representing Vanderbilt Health were two subsidiaries — Vanderbilt Health Purchasing Collaborative (VHPC) and the Center for Patient and Professional Advocacy (CPPA) — alongside innovation partners Brim Analytics and ImageAssist.

“HPS exists to bring innovative ideas rooted in real healthcare experience to a broader stage,” said Olivia Bryant, senior vice president at Health Professional Solutions. “Gatherings like Becker’s create an important meeting ground where health systems, innovators and industry partners can connect around solutions that are already demonstrating value in practice.”

Supply chain and professional accountability

VHPC highlighted its work supporting both acute and non-acute providers through supply chain volume aggregation and strategic collaboration.

“Becker’s gave us a great platform to show how VHPC helps organizations reduce costs while maintaining quality and operational performance,” said Tony Gribble, VHPC vice president. “It’s about creating trust and sustainable solutions that can scale across health systems.”

CPPA equips health care organizations with tools to foster cultures of professionalism and accountability within clinical environments.

“The Annual Meeting provides a meaningful opportunity for us to connect with healthcare leaders committed to advancing professionalism, safety, and high reliability,” said William Cooper, MD, MPH, Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor of Pediatrics, senior vice president for Professionalism and Clinical Excellence at Vanderbilt Health and president of CPPA.

Analytics and imaging expertise

Two innovation partners joined VHPC and CPPA at this year’s conference, broadening the scope of solutions on display.

Brim Analytics applies advanced analytics to help health systems identify improvement opportunities, translating complex operational data into actionable insight. The company was founded by Daniel Fabbri, PhD, FAMIA, associate professor of Biomedical Informatics and Computer Science and director of Informatics Innovation.

“Health systems generate enormous amounts of data, but insight is what ultimately drives meaningful change,” said Fabbri, founder and CEO of Brim Analytics. “Our focus has been helping organizations transform that data into decisions that improve both outcomes and operational performance.”

ImageAssist supports medical decision making and quality improvement by standardizing capture, management and security of patient photos across health systems. The company was founded by Michael Golinko, MD, FACS, FAAP, chief of Pediatric Plastic Surgery and program director of the Craniofacial Fellowship at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

“Health care innovation must begin with the needs of clinicians and patients,” said Golinko. “When expertise can be shared more effectively across systems, it creates opportunities to strengthen care at scale.”
