Marsha Blackburn visits new ‘MICRO’ biosafety lab that will test therapies against infectious agents

U.S. Sen. Marsha Blackburn, along with representatives from the offices of U.S. Sen. Bill Hagerty and U.S. Rep. Matt Van Epps, toured Vanderbilt Health’s new “MICRO” lab suite on Sept. 1. MICRO is a biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) laboratory with state-of-the-art biosafety features made possible in part by an $8 million National Institutes of Health construction grant.
