Hospitals and clinics receive third Magnet designation

Vanderbilt University Medical Center has received a third consecutive Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the organization announced in a conference call on July 20.

VPH’s Jarosemich always ready to lend a helping hand

Laura Jarosemich, MSN, R.N., is always teaching. It’s the role she had as a nurse educator, as an instructor at Nashville State Community College and now as a nurse at Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital (VPH), both to patients and fellow nurses.

Award lauds medical education programs

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation have awarded Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) with the second annual DeWitt C. ‘Bud’ Baldwin Award, which recognizes institutions that “foster a respectful, supportive environment for medical education.”

Protocol standardizes care for pregnant women on opiates

Complications related to opioid abuse occur in 54,000 pregnancies annually in the United States, and Tennessee ranks among the top 10 states in the number of opioid-dependent pregnant women.
