Keith Wrenn, M.D., who for 25 years has been a leader in Vanderbilt’s Department of Emergency Medicine serving as its first and only residency director, is stepping down.

The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and the Arnold P. Gold Foundation have awarded Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) with the second annual DeWitt C. ‘Bud’ Baldwin Award, which recognizes institutions that “foster a respectful, supportive environment for medical education.”

The inaugural class of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency program is making a big impact on patient care and research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC).

Don Moore, Ph.D., director of the Division of Continuing Medical Education and Director of Evaluation and Education in the Office of Graduate Medical Education, will be inducted into the inaugural fellowship class of the Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education (SACME) at its Annual Meeting in May.

On June 30, John Tarpley, M.D., retired after 23 years of service at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) and the Nashville VA Medical Center. The next day, he packed a suitcase, and on July 2 he boarded a Kenya-bound plane, a move that was absolutely no surprise to all who know him.
