To celebrate the release of her first children’s album, “I Believe in You,” legendary country music singer-songwriter Dolly Parton visited Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt on Friday, Oct. 13, and performed songs from the album for patients, their families and hospital staff. -

Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne, Predators executive leaders, executives from Tri Star Energy (Twice Daily) and team mascot Gnash recently presented the proceeds of the team’s 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund to Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. -

Two from VU take roles with Nashville Metro Board of Health
Carol Etherington, MSN, R.N., associate professor of Nursing, emerita, was recently elected chair of the Metropolitan Board of Health of Nashville and Davidson County, and Alex Jahangir, M.D., MMHC, medical director of the Vanderbilt Center for Trauma, Burn and Emergency Surgery, joined the board as a member. -
