The Fleming Society, established in 2021, is named in honor of Geoffrey Fleming, MD, former professor of Pediatrics, whose passion for mentorship and medical education inspired this program.

Each year, Doximity Residency Navigator publishes residency program rankings by specialty, which are “powered by peer nominations, ratings and hand-written reviews.”

The members of the VUSM Class of 2029 are 83 MD students, 12 Medical Scientist Training Program students and one oral and maxillofacial surgery student.

They were part of the Aspirnaut program, which prepares high school and college students, primarily from rural areas, for careers in the STEM fields.

The awards provide grants to women pursuing doctoral degrees who demonstrate outstanding academic records and have the potential to make a meaningful impact in their fields.

The program was established in 2023 with financial support from the American Cancer Society, and Vanderbilt-Ingram had an inaugural class of four fellows.
