Today, as we begin celebrating Nurses Week, I want to thank you for all that you do to help advance our missions and improve the lives of the patients and families who trust you with their care.   

Today’s VUMC is closely intertwined with the booming geographic region it calls home, resulting in a relationship that both demands and fuels the institution’s rapid growth.

After 35 years of tireless service to the people and patients of Vanderbilt University Medical Center, C. Wright Pinson, MBA, MD, Deputy CEO and Chief Health System Officer, will step down from that role.

The presentation was an opportunity for Keady to introduce herself to the enterprise and express her vision for the future of nursing at VUMC.

Serving as the new front door to Vanderbilt University Hospital, the building serves as a visible reminder of the monumental impact Janet and Jim Ayers have had on the people of Tennessee.

VUMC’s storied history of delivering high quality, personalized care, groundbreaking research and training underpins an initiative to implement a lifelong learning framework to strengthen the agility of its people.

Recent expansions in locations, capacity and business lines underscore how VUMC is navigating fast-paced population growth and the financial headwinds facing health systems across the country.
