According to annual figures available through the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Vanderbilt University School of Medicine (VUSM) continues to be ranked among the top 10 in the nation among U.S. medical schools in total grant support provided through the nation’s medical research agency.

Vanderbilt Health and Williamson Medical Center are opening a new Walk-In Clinic in Brentwood on Thursday, Oct. 9. The new clinic joins three other Vanderbilt Health and Williamson Medical Center Walk-In Clinics already open in Cool Springs, Franklin and Spring Hill.

Keith Churchwell, M.D., executive director and chief medical officer for the Vanderbilt Heart and Vascular Institute (VHVI), is departing Vanderbilt and will join Yale-New Haven Health System as vice president and executive director of Cardiovascular Services on Dec. 1.

Beginning Tuesday, Sept. 30, members of Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s leadership team will hold a series of town hall presentations that all faculty and staff are encouraged to attend. The town halls are a component of the renewed focus on Elevate, a Medical Center cultural touchstone.

Arnold Malcolm, M.D., MBA, the Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor of Radiation Oncology and chair of the department, will retire from his position as the department’s leader on Dec. 31, after serving in this role since August 2010.

Affirming that its people are Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s most important asset, the coming year will bring a renewed focus to Elevate, a Medical Center cultural touchstone.
