Leaders with Jennie Stuart Medical Center (JSMC) and Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) announce a strategic affiliation agreement that formalizes a collaborative relationship between the two institutions while JSMC is also joining the Vanderbilt Health Affiliated Network.

John W. Brock III, M.D., Surgeon-in-Chief for Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, Vice Chair of the Section of Surgical Sciences, Director of Pediatric Urology and Monroe Carell Jr. Professor, has been named Senior Vice President of Pediatric Surgical Services.

Jennifer Pietenpol, Ph.D., director of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, B.F. Byrd Jr. Professor of Molecular Oncology and Professor of Biochemistry, Cancer Biology and Otolaryngology, has been named Executive Vice President for Research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC). Her appointment is effective May 1.

Harsh Trivedi, M.D., MBA, vice chair for Clinical Affairs for the Department of Psychiatry, administrative director for Vanderbilt Behavioral Health and CEO of the Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital (VPH), has accepted the position of president and CEO of Sheppard Pratt Health System in Baltimore.

Last week, David Charles, M.D., chief medical officer of the Vanderbilt Neuroscience Institute, vice-chair of the Department of Neurology and medical director of Telemedicine, represented Vanderbilt University Medical Center at a White House Convening on Rural Telehealth.
