Cornetta Long, 10, and her mother, Kelli, were all smiles after snagging Cornetta’s favorite costume during Wednesday’s Halloween Costume Shop at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. More than 1,000 costumes for patients and families were donated for this year’s event, which is hosted by Child Life.

The American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) has awarded the Bronze Level Beacon Award to the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU) at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt. The award is given to nursing units that distinguish themselves by excellence and a commitment to improve patient care.

Arthur Fleischer, MD, medical director of Ultrasound and Cornelius Vanderbilt Professor of Radiology and Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB-GYN), received the Laurence (Larry) A. Mack Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2018 Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound (SRU) Annual Meeting held in October in San Diego.
