Nine Vanderbilt nurses honored by March of Dimes Tennessee

Nine nurses from Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) and Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN) received top honors at the March of Dimes Tennessee Chapter Nurse of the Year Awards, held on Dec. 12 at the Franklin Marriott Cool Springs.

Ceremony highlights VUSN students’ achievements

Family and friends of 17 Vanderbilt University School of Nursing students gathered in Benton Chapel Dec. 9 for pinning ceremonies. Among those receiving the nursing pin were two Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioners and nine Nurse-Midwifery Nurse Practitioners.

New Instructor in Nursing Susanna Rudy brings to Vanderbilt a wealth of experience. She’s a board-certified nurse practitioner in emergency, family and adult-gerontology acute care who earned a master’s degree in forensic science before earning master of science in nursing and doctor of nursing practice degrees, the latter two from Vanderbilt.

VUSN, Sexual Assault Center create online training for student volunteers

Soon Vanderbilt University School of Nursing (VUSN) students interested in serving as crisis and support line volunteers for Nashville’s Sexual Assault Center (SAC) will be able to do so from any location in the country with the help of a newly developed online training program envisioned by Ginny Moore, DNP, and SAC’s Amanda Markham.
