Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s graduate medical education program has grown from an inaugural dozen to include more than 1,200 individuals, with more than 170 highly competitive residency and fellowship programs.

Brittain, who holds the Rose Marie Robertson Directorship, will assume these roles related to training and developing aspiring physician-scientists on Oct. 1.

These will become the fourth and fifth MNPS zoned high schools with an Early College program embedded in the school in partnership with Nashville State, joining Whites Creek, Glencliff, and Cane Ridge.

The Fleming Society, established in 2021, is named in honor of Geoffrey Fleming, MD, former professor of Pediatrics, whose passion for mentorship and medical education inspired this program.
