John Koethe, MD, MSCI, associate professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, has been appointed director and principal investigator of the Tennessee Center for AIDS Research.

Jerome is the 2024 recipient of the Distinguished Scientist Award, which honors “preeminent senior scientists for a long-standing record of achievement in the field of microscopy and microanalysis.”

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality Council helps guide national priorities for health services research that promotes improvements in the quality, safety and efficiency of clinical practice.

Mary Pawlikowski, MA, MEd, PsyDABD, president of Vanderbilt Psychiatric Hospital and Vanderbilt Behavioral Health, will retire at the end of the fiscal year. A search will begin for the hospital’s new executive director.

Roger Dmochowski, MD, MMHC, professor of Urology, Surgery, and Obstetrics & Gynecology and director of the Section of Female Pelvic Medicine, has been promoted to Vice President and Executive Medical Director of Perioperative Services at Vanderbilt University Hospital. He will function full time in this role.

Douglas Ruderfer, PhD, whose research at Vanderbilt University Medical Center explores the intersection of genomics, biomedical informatics and psychiatry, has been named director of a newly established Center for Digital Genomic Medicine.
