James Newman, MBA, CPA, Associate Vice President for Finance, has been named Vice President of Finance and Divisional Chief Financial Officer for the Clinical Support Services Division for Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Chad Fitzgerald, JD, Senior Vice President for Health System Emergency Operations, has been named Executive Vice President and will lead Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s Clinical Support Services Division.

Daniel Muñoz, MD, MPA, associate professor of Medicine, and Francis Miller, MD, professor of Medicine, have been named interim directors of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Steven Webber, MBChB, MRCP, James C. Overall Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics, has been named as Dean of the College of Medicine and Executive Vice Chancellor for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

Sondra Hornsey, MSEd, CHPC, Interim Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Hospital, has been named as Vanderbilt University Medical Center’s new Chief Privacy Officer. She will join VUMC on Dec. 4.

Neuroscientist Véronique Belzil, PhD, MS, will join Vanderbilt University Medical Center as associate professor of Neurology and director of ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) research.

Keith Obstein, MD, MPH, has received the inaugural Innovator of the Year Award from the Brock Family Center for Applied Innovation in recognition of his achievements in developing and commercializing a magnetic, flexible colonoscopy system with the potential to provide a safer alternative to standard colonoscopy.
