Vanderbilt University Medical Center completes acquisition of Tennova Healthcare-Lebanon

VUMC announced completion of the acquisition of Tennova Healthcare-Lebanon, a two-campus facility licensed for 245 beds, from subsidiaries of Community Health Systems, Inc. (CHS). Wilson County’s only hospital will now be called Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.

Rick W. Wright, MD, one of the nation’s leading orthopaedic surgeons and sports medicine specialists, has been named chair of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He will join the faculty Sept. 1.

Mitchell Edgeworth, MBA, Chief Executive Officer of Vanderbilt University Adult Hospital, has accepted a new position as Chief Administrative Officer — South with the TriStar Division of Hospital Corporation of America, and will be leaving Vanderbilt University Medical Center this month.

At 2 a.m. Sunday, six gunshot patients poured into the Vanderbilt ER. It was the fourth mass shooting seen there in the past 15 months.
