As Vanderbilt Health System leader, Pinson has championed a culture of service and has overseen a period of explosive clinical growth.

She was turned down by multiple transplant centers between Honolulu and Nashville, deemed too sick, before the Vanderbilt Lung Transplant Program accepted her as a patient.

At Vanderbilt University Hospital, a Level 1 trauma center, ED arrival volumes have increased 8% over last year. In response, there's a newly developed rapid follow-up program for patients who can be referred safely to outpatient clinics for evaluation and treatment. 

When her evening pivoted from cheering for Nashville Soccer Club to suffering a heart attack, well-coordinated teams kept Leigh Anne Clark’s heart and life safe.

“Being a photographer taught me to treasure the good memories and hold tight through the tough times. This is useful in nursing because there are a lot of tough times.”

Each day, 50 to 60 Nashville Fire employees participated, beginning with lectures and followed by hands-on group exercises facilitated by LifeFlight instructors.

The event, open to general practitioners, trainers, physical therapists, coaches, teachers and concerned families is Friday and Saturday at Bridgestone Arena.
